TUP EcE Quiz Team dominates IECEP-EMMSC Quizard '08

Adding yet another pride and honor to the university by emerging as the champion, EcE quiz team proves another dominance in the Institute of Electronics Engineering of the Philippines - Expanded Metro Manila Student Chapter (IECEP-EMMSC) Quizard 2008, held at the Mapua Institute of Technology, October 27, 2008.


The team, composed of Jefferson Santoria, Nevo Mabini, Reynaldo Retome, Norman Cenizal, Lean Karlo Tolentino, and Jhon Juan Evangelista were declared as champions after a tough competition. The quiz was categorized in three major subjects: Electronics, Communications, and Math.

Moreover, University of Santo Thomas (UST) finished second place, while Bulacan State University (BSU) and Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP)-Manila took the third and fourth places respectively. The quiz covers the Expanded Metro Manila Student Chapter (EMMSC). This area includes the schools in National Capital Region (NCR) and from Bulacan and Rizal. Twenty one (21) out of twenty three (23) schools made it on the event.

"Maganda 'yung combination ng team, each one of them has an expertise on the area, hindi naman sa expert as in expert, pero maganda 'yung focus." Coach of the quiz team, Engr. Edmon Fernandez said. "Naging maganda 'yung tandem ng team, nagkataon na most of the questions, they know how to answer," Engr. Fernandez added.

The team is now preparing for the National Quiz, which shall be held on December 6, 2008 at the Gran Menseng Hotel in Davao City.
