CLA Brings KABIHASNAN 2017 on Stage

MANILA - The College of Liberal Arts (CLA) thru its Physical Education Department and the Cultural Affairs Office of the Office of the President, sponsored a cultural show "KABIHASNAN 2017" last March 1, 2017 held at the TUP Centennial Stage. With the theme "Ang Kabihasnan at Isang Yugtong Kaunlaran ng Isang Lipunan," the concert was a showcase of performances that epitomized the culture and tradition of the Filipino songs and dances.

Unlike in the past, this year's KABIHASNAN featured performers who came from the member institutions of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges- NCR (PASUC), such as, Rizal Technological University (RTU), Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), Philippine State College of Aeronautics (PhilSCA), Eulogio "Amang" Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST), Marikina Polytechnic College (MPC) and Philippine Normal University(PNU).On the other hand, the TUP Kalinangan Dancers and TUP Kalinangan Singers performed for the Technological University of the Philippines.

The event commenced with the welcome remarks from Dr. Dionisio A. Espression, Jr., Vice President for Academic Affairs and was followed by the inspirational message of Dr. Adora S. Pili, TUP President. Dr. Pili enthusiastically expressed her appreciation for the participation of the PASUC-NCR member institutions. She dubbed the event as a unifying force, because it became an opportunity for state colleges and universities to strengthen their bond.

At the end, certificates of appreciation were presented to the performers by VPAA, Dr. Espression, Jr. and Dr. Juliet A. Catane, Dean, CLA. Moreover, the successful event was facilitated by Prof. Bernadette L. Alavazo, Director, Cultural Affairs Office.
