TUP officials attend Performance Forum 2017

MANILA - Officials of the Technological University of the Philippines attended the TUP Performance Forum 2017 with theme, "Performance-Driven TUP – Committed to Excellence," was conducted last March 20, 2017.

Prof. Alice M. Advincula, Director, Planning Office stating the purpose of the forum at the start of the program. Top management officials seated at the far right are, Dr.Dionisio A. Espression, Jr., VPAA; Dr. Florida C. Labuguen, VPAF; Dr.Adora S. Pili, President and Dr. Ronaldo A. Juanatas, VPPDIS.

Spearheaded by Dr. Ronaldo A. Juanatas, Vice President for Planning Development and Information System (VPPDIS), the said forum is a required activity in the Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS) calendar which is every first quarter of the year.

Dr. Pili talks about TUP Thrusts and Mandates for 2017.

The primary aim of holding such an activity was to make an annual assessment of the performance of all sectors in terms of management of the organizational resources of the University through proper organizing, monitoring and implementation of action plans. Likewise, it replaces the Annual Presentation of Accomplishments and Review of Plans and Programs (APARPP) that the University normally conducts with the same purpose.

The event's highlight was the cascading of institutional General Appropriations Act (GAA) targets per Major Final Output (MFO) to sector heads which were expected to be translated into specific tasks or activities by sector heads and then cascaded to their respective delivery units. During the opening program, the said cascading of targets to the sector heads was ceremoniously done by TUP President, Dr.Adora S. Pili. In line with these too, Dr.Pili talked about "TUP Thrusts and Mandate for 2017."

Another significant episode of the forum was the presentation of previous year's accomplishments by sector heads of academic, research, extension administrative and support services. Also contained within their presentations were the significant programs and projects for the ensuing year.

This event was also facilitated by the following PDIS officials and staff, namely, Prof. Alicia M. Advincula, Director, Planning and Development Office, Dr. Ralph Sherwin A. Corpuz, Director, Quality Assurance, Mr.Jerson A. Monsad, PDO Technical Assistant and Prof. Julius A. Sareno, Director, University Information Technology Center (UITC).
