On November 16, 2018 at 8:50 in the morning, Dr. Myrna Tepora, affectionately called "Mam Teps" by many people in the TUP community, texted me to announce that TUP-Cavite has been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 certification by TUV SUD, the international awarding body for the certification. This means that the campus complies with internationally-accepted standards of the TUV SUD, the international body which assesses the readiness of an organization for the award. 

According to www.certificationeurope.com, 

"ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) is internationally recognised as the world’s leading quality management standard and has been implemented by over one million organisations in over 170 countries globally. ISO 9001 implemented, to its full potential, becomes an invaluable asset to your organisation. 

The purpose of the standard is to assist companies in meeting statutory and regulatory requirements relating to their product while achieving excellence in their customer service and delivery. The standard can be used throughout an organisation to improve the performance or within a particular site, plant or department." 

Dr. Tepora announced that the awarding will be done of December 5, 2018 in Tagaytay City. I went to the Cavite Campus for an impromptu visit yesterday (November 20, 2018). Mam Teps showed me a framed provisional certificate for the ISO award.
