Vice President Delos Reyes Christmas Message

Dr. Viola Delos Reyes, TUP Vice President for Academic AffairsAs we celebrate the 108th Foundation Anniversary of the University, we also look forward in welcoming the Christmas Season, the happiest time of the year. The date and the manner that people celebrate around the world may be different, but the meaning and magnificence of what we celebrate – the divine birth of the Prince of Peace, is the same. Celebrating his birth always brings forth good tidings of great joy to all. For unto us was born on this day, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. What better way to celebrate than to reflect on the true meaning of our existence, by offering to each other the gifts that last and never fade:
  • wisdom to direct our thoughts and actions;
  • humility and courage to accept our mistakes;
  • compassion to understand and care for one another;
  • forgiveness to those who have hurt us; and
  • courage to carry on amidst the darkness of our troubles & difficulties.

These gifts will make us better persons, not only for ourselves and our families, but also, will help us become better employees of the University. Let us, therefore, be a blessing to each other, and to work uncompromisingly in an atmosphere that is centered on love, acceptance, tolerance, and compassion and in the process, we create a more joyful and harmonious life together as one TUP family.. Together and with God’s help, TUP’s greatest chapter is still to be written - for the best is yet to come.

As Henry Ford said, “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress and working together is success”.

May the miracle of Christmas fill your heart with warmth and love.
